Registration Dates for Spring 2023
-Regular Registration ends December 11th
-Late Registration is after December 12th and you will be placed on a wait-list and will be accepted as room permits.

Costs for Spring 2023
-Regular Registration – El Segundo Resident $275 / Non El Segundo Resident $325
-Late Registration – El Segundo Resident $325 / Non El Segundo Resident $375

Age categories for the Spring 2023 seasons:
6U – Players born in 2016 & 2017
8U – Players born in 2014 & 2015
10U – Players born in 2012 & 2013
12U – Players born in 2010 & 2011
14U – Players born in 2008 & 2009

NOTES:
– 16U will not be offered in the Spring 2023.
– A Select program will be offered – this will depend on field space, the number of registered and there is a tryout process. It is not guaranteed that each division will have a Select team. Select participants will also play on a Rec Ball team in the Spring. There is an additional fee for Select. Schedules will not conflict and Rec has priority over Select.
– Registration includes a uniform jersey/shirt and socks.
– There is a multi-child discount of $25 off.

El Segundo Girls Softball has worked hard to develop as a league and we have grown tremendously over the past few years. Unfortunately, we have both outgrown our infrastructure and unintentionally deviated slightly from the mandatory requirement of having El Segundo residents/students be the large majority of the league. In order to maintain our league in good standing with the City of El Segundo and continue to access the extremely limited softball facilities, we will need to initiate a program where priority is given to El Segundo residents and/or students of El Segundo schools. We are not anticipating a big impact on who is able to play with our league but we wanted to be transparent with the process that we will use to maintain our good standing with the City of El Segundo.

Priority is considered based on the following:

One – El Segundo Residents
Two – Board members in good standing
Three – Managers in good standing
Four – Played for ESGS in Spring 2022 or earlier and attend El Segundo schools
Five – Players who are not residents but attend El Segundo schools
Six – Played for ESGS in Spring 2022 or earlier and do not attend El Segundo schools
Seven – Players who are not residents and do not attend El Segundo schools

We will be working diligently to place all girls on an ESGS team and will notify players by December 15, 2022 (or earlier) regarding their ability to play with ESGS this spring. Full refunds will be provided for any player who we are unable to accommodate based on the above. We are not happy about needing to do this, but without field space, our league will cease to exist.

Important Dates

Rec Team Evaluations:
12U Mon 1/2/22 afternoon/evening
10U Tue 1/3/22 & Wed 1/4/22 evening
8U Thur 1/5/22 & Fri 1/6/22 evening
Pitchers & Catchers: Sat 1/7/22 morning

Select Team Tryouts:
Sat 1/7/22 & Sun 1/8/22
*Players new to the league, please remember to submit your birth certificate by email or mail.

Game & Practice schedules
One game per week for most of the season but will likely increase to two during round robin and playoffs. Practices are usually once a week for 6U division and twice a week for 8U and up.

ESGS games and practice schedules won’t be published until after registration closes and team formation is complete.

UNIFORMS
Team jersey and socks are provided by El Segundo Girls Softball. You will need to provide black pants, helmet, glove, cleats and a bat.

Snack bar Volunteers
Snack bar shifts are required. However, there is a $200 buyout option available for purchase during registration. A $250 snack bar deposit check will be collected by team parents for those who plan to complete their snack bar shifts. See complete policy here.

Refunds
Upon written request, refund in full (minus credit card processing fees) will be granted prior to team formations (approximately Jan 7th). No refunds will be granted once teams have been formed. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
