Registration will closed on 7/21/23 and players will be placed on a wait list and a late registration fee will apply if they are able to join a team.
Age categories for the Fall 2023 season:
USA Softball has changed the birth date cutoff for division determination. There is a temporary option for players that fall within the Sept 1st – Dec 31st birthday range to stay with the players with birth dates of Jan 1st – August 31st, but we will reach out to those impacted families to discuss this option.
6U – Players born between 9/1/16 – 8/31/18
8U – Players born between 9/1/14 – 8/31/16
10U – Players born between 9/1/12 – 8/31/14
12U – Players born between 9/1/10 – 8/31/12
14U – Players born between 9/1/08 – 8/31/10
– A Select program will be offered – this will depend on field space, the number of registered and there is a tryout process. It is not guaranteed that each division will have a Select team. Select participants have the option to play only on the Select team but it is highly encouraged to play on both the Rec team and Select team. There is an additional fee for Select. Schedules should not conflict and Rec has priority over Select.
– Registration includes a uniform jersey (shirt) and socks.
– There is a multi-child discount of $25 off.

El Segundo Girls Softball has worked hard to develop as a league and we have grown tremendously over the past few years. Unfortunately, we have both outgrown our infrastructure and unintentionally deviated slightly from the mandatory requirement of having El Segundo residents/students be the large majority of the league. In order to maintain our league in good standing with the City of El Segundo and continue to access the extremely limited softball facilities, we will need to initiate a program where priority is given to El Segundo residents and/or students of El Segundo schools. We are not anticipating a big impact on who is able to play with our league but we wanted to be transparent with the process that we will use to maintain our good standing with the City of El Segundo.
Priority is considered based on the following:
One – El Segundo Residents
Two – Board members in good standing
Three – Managers in good standing
Four – Played for ESGS in Spring 2022 or earlier and attend El Segundo schools
Five – Players who are not residents but attend El Segundo schools
Six – Played for ESGS in Spring 2022 or earlier and do not attend El Segundo schools
Seven – Players who are not residents and do not attend El Segundo schools
We will work diligently to place all girls on an ESGS team and will notify players by August 15, 2023 (or earlier) regarding their ability to play with ESGS this fall. Full refunds will be provided for any player who we are unable to accommodate based on the above. We are not happy about needing to do this, but without field space, our league will cease to exist.
Game & Practice schedules
One practice & one game per week for the fall season. If we have enough teams we will try to keep games in El Segundo but we may need to travel for games.
ESGS games and practice schedules won’t be published until after registration closes and team formation is complete. We are unable to guarantee practice days/times.
Team jersey (shirt) and socks are provided by El Segundo Girls Softball. You will need to provide black pants, helmet, glove, cleats and a bat.
Upon written request, refund in full (minus credit card processing fees) will be granted prior to team formations (approximately Aug 4th). No refunds will be granted once teams have been formed. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
