Welcome to El Segundo Girls Softball Registration!
El Segundo Girls Softball has worked hard to develop as a league and we have grown tremendously over the past few years. Unfortunately, we have both outgrown our infrastructure and unintentionally deviated slightly from the mandatory requirement of having El Segundo residents/students be the large majority of the league. In order to maintain our league in good standing with the City of El Segundo and continue to access the extremely limited softball facilities, we will need to initiate a program where priority is given to El Segundo residents and/or students of El Segundo schools. We are not anticipating a big impact on who is able to play with our league but we wanted to be transparent with the process that we will use to maintain our good standing with the City of El Segundo.
Priority is considered based on the following:
- El Segundo Residents
- Board members in good standing
- Managers in good standing
- Played for ESGS in Spring 2022 or earlier and attend El Segundo schools
- Players who are not residents but attend El Segundo schools
- Played for ESGS in Spring 2022 or earlier and do not attend El Segundo schools
- Players who are not residents and do not attend El Segundo schools
We will be working diligently to place all girls on an ESGS team and will notify players by January 15, 2024 (or earlier) regarding their ability to play with ESGS this spring. Full refunds will be provided for any player who we are unable to accommodate based on the above.
We are not happy about needing to do this, but without field space, our league will cease to exist.
Early-bird: November 2 – November 11, 2023
Resident: $250 / Non-Resident: $300
Regular: November 12 – December 5, 2023
Resident: $300 / Non-Resident: $350
Late: Registrations after December 5th will be placed on a wait list and will be accepted as room permits Resident: $350 / Non-Resident: $400
Multi-Child Discount: Each family receives $25 off for each additional child registered.

- Evaluations: Early December
- Select Team Try-Outs (Potentially for Divisions 8U, 10U, 12U): Week of Dec 17th
- Practices Could Begin: February 5th
- Opening Day (not confirmed): Feb 17th
- Regular Season ends: May 11th
USA Softball has changed the birth date cutoff for division determination. There is a temporary option for players that fall within the Sept 1st – Dec 31st birthday range to stay with the players with birth dates of Jan 1st – August 31st, but we will reach out to those impacted families to discuss this option.
6U – Players born between 9/1/16 – 8/31/18
8U – Players born between 9/1/14 – 8/31/16
10U – Players born between 9/1/12 – 8/31/14
12U – Players born between 9/1/10 – 8/31/12
14U – Players born between 9/1/08 – 8/31/10
ESGS requires all families to work at the ESGS snack bar up to a maximum of 6 hours split between 1-2 shifts for each child registered. There is an option to buy out your shifts. The cost is $200 per player to buyout and can be paid for during online registration. If buying out you must make the payment during registration.
GAME & PRACTICE SCHEDULES
Spring season often has two practices & one game per week during first half of season and then one practice & two games in the 2nd half. If we have enough teams we will try to keep games in El Segundo but we may need to travel for games. If there are an odd number of teams in the division we will schedule games with teams outside of El Segundo so that each team can still play on a weekly basis.
ESGS games and practice schedules won’t be published until after registration closes and team formation is complete. We are unable to guarantee practice days/times.
Team jersey and socks are provided by El Segundo Girls Softball. You will need to provide black pants, helmet, glove, cleats and a bat. Fielding facemasks are not mandatory but highly recommended
Upon written request, refund in full (minus credit card processing fees) will be granted prior to team formations (approximately Jan 2nd). No refunds will be granted once teams have been formed. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
